Flicka Suite with Built In Security

The Flicka Suite has been newly refurbished and our guests were greeted by the 4-legged (all 12 legs) security team.  Many of our residents and guests have pets and we encourage them to use the green space that serves as a dog run behind the Stable Suites.

Use the web site to schedule your tour today ... both the Flicka Suite and Black Beauty have been renovated and remodeled and are ready for move in (for a day, a week or a year)!

Save the Date for some Horn Tootin'

We don't like to toot our own horn, but it is time to show off The Texan House after the remodeling and renovations.

Thursday, September 15, 2016 5-7 pm (Chamber Ribbon Cutting at 4:30 pm)

Besides the beauty on the surface of the oak-canopied 4 acres, we've also dug deep into the history of the home and the families who lived there.  I won't say there are ghosts ... but you can see the love and character of the place in every detail.

The history of The Texan House is very much a part of Boerne's story, and will continue to be.  Join us next Thursday to learn more.

Birthdays at The Rainbow Senior Center

When I talked to Mary at HEB to order the cake, using green as the accent color made perfect sense ... it was the color of May's birthstone - the Emerald.

Everyone at The Senior Center verbalized my first impression -- it looked like a cake for St. Patrick's Day!

It was delicious and we had a good time serving up Birthday cake for all of us who celebrated May birthdays.

Thanks everyone for your help on Friday!

Monday, May 16th at The Health Fair

Join us Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place in Boerne.  We'll be joining our friends in healthcare from 9am-2pm for free screenings, blood pressure checks and answering any questions you might have about your health and wellness.

After the Health Fair, at 2 pm, we're inviting everyone (even you) to join us for cookies and lemonade at The Texan House.   Chris and his family have been working very hard to remodel and refresh two rooms - both barn suites overlooking the grounds in between the barn and the Ranch House.

They look like they're right out of Southern Living!  If you haven't seen The Texan House lately (formerly A Long Stay), you'll be impressed!

You are our future ... but first a bit about our past

You are our future ... but first a bit about our past

In 1838, Sam Houston signed the deed transferring ownership of a section of land, 640 ares, to J. M. McCulloch from Petersburg, Virginia.  At the time the land was in Bexar County.  Boerne would be platted 12 years later and Kendall County would eventually be carved out.

This area of Old San Antonio Road in South Boerne was originally known as The British Colony, and the Howard Family, who would own the ranch from 1880 to 1943 would be avid participants in all that they, and their English families brought with them - Cricket, Polo and shooting competitions were some of their favorite sports.  In fact, in an old photo of the Boerne Polo Club, at least 3 Howards are represented.

I think they would like the fact that the stables and barn helped create a home for new family members anxious to share in all the wonderful things our Boerne offers.
